Autumn in the Smoky Mountains means crisp, cool weather, festive fall events, and spectacular foliage! Every year, visitors retreat to the Smoky Mountains to witness the breathtaking views of the orange, garnet, and golden leaves.
We anticipate an especially colorful display of leaves this year as the Smokies have received plenty of rainfall this summer! As we get closer to September, we will have a better idea of when the best time to view the leaves will be, but the current forecast for the peak time to view the foliage is October 10-27, 2014. The color begins to change first at higher elevations before spreading down to the trees at lower elevations. The changing colors are expected to begin at the higher elevated areas in early October, and peak at the mid to low elevations between mid-October and early November. Of course, whichever week visitors choose to come, the Smokies never disappoint with beautiful autumn views!
Now’s the time to begin planning your trip to see the beautiful, well-known fall foliage in the Smoky Mountains! Whether you desire a high-elevation cabin with spectacular views of the changing leaves or a private, wooded cabin where you are closely surrounded by the colorful foliage, Accommodations by Great Cabins in the Smokies offers high-end vacation rental homes for your stay! We look forward to seeing you this fall in the Smokies!
