Summertime is a great time to visit the Smokies. If you’re enjoying that summer sun, you will definitely need to cool off! There is lots to do in the Smoky Mountains, but where can you get in the water this summer?

  • Smoky Mountain White Water Rafting

Imagine rushing through the mountains on a white water raft with your family and friends. This adventurous ride through the mountains will not only cool you off but make for unforgettable memories. We recommend Smoky Mountain Outdoors for your white water rafting adventures. They are located close to our Smoky Mountain cabin rentals!

  • Dollywood Splash Country

What better way to cool off than a thrilling ride down a waterslide? Or perhaps a dip in the wave pool? Dollywood’s Splash Country is THE place to be during the summer time. Bring the whole family and some extra towels! Everybody in the family will love a trip to Dolly Parton’s hometown waterpark! Purchase your tickets in advance for the park to plan your day accordingly!

  • The Sinks

Immerse yourself in the mountain lifestyle and take a dip in the sinks. Take a short hike to The Sinks and enjoy a refreshing dip in one of the favorite watering holes of the Smokies! The water can be dangerous, don’t let children swim unsupervised. Bring your camera and pack a lunch, then you will have all the fixings for a lovely summer afternoon.

  • Tubing

Grab a cold drink, gather the family and float down the river in your own tube. Tubing is a relaxing way to get in the water this summer. Take a leisurely float down the river and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. This activity is family friendly and low cost! (Note: Always plan summer activities in advance to ensure a spot. Summer is a very popular season in the Smokies! We want you to have as much fun as possible!)

  • Metcalf Bottoms Swimming Area

Picnic tables, a swimming hole and grassy areas. Welcome to Metcalf Bottoms! This location is not just for swimming. If you are looking for an all around great summer spot, look no further. This spot has pavilions, grills, picnic areas and opportunities for swimming! If you decide to take a dip, be careful with the rocks, they can be slippery. Always supervise children and swim in a group for safety reasons.
Book one of our Smoky Mountain cabins and get in the water this summer! Our cabins are close to local water attractions and trails. Cool off this summer by splishing and splashing in the Smoky Mountains!
